2023 Jeep Wrangler Comparison Highlights
Tugging at our heartstrings and our longing for adventure are a bunch of limited-run and special edition 2023 Wranglers that represent good ol' American fun in the sun. The list of special variants includes Wrangler High Tide, Wrangler "Jeep Beach", Wrangler Rubicon FarOut, Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary, and Wrangler Freedom.
This year, the Wrangler High Tide and Wrangler "Jeep Beach" models take part in commemorating the 20th anniversary of the popular Jeep Beach event in Daytona Beach, Florida. With a limited production run of just 500 examples, the Wrangler Jeep Beach, which is based on the Wrangler High Tide, offers exclusive exterior and interior design details, an Xtreme Recon Package, and Mopar Katzkin leather seats with Jeep Beach embroidery. The Jeep Beach model should be highly sought after, especially for fans of one of the largest Jeep gatherings in America.
The commemorative Wrangler Rubicon FarOut is the final model to have an EcoDiesel engine, the Wrangler Freedom honors our military with a unique theme, and the Wrangler Rubicon 20th Anniversary celebrates the creation and legacy of the Rubicon variant with upgrades that make it the most capable Wrangler ever.
And speaking of capabilities, the Wrangler has always been a leader for off-road performance, especially for the models that have earned the Trail Rated badge. These vehicles must pass a series of tough tests, and do so with exclusive and upgraded equipment to deliver enhanced traction, water fording, articulation, maneuverability, and ground clearance.
Three robust drivetrain systems offer part-time or full-time 4x4 performance through intelligent torque management and specific rock crawling modes. For example, on the Wrangler Rubicon, the standard Rock-Trac 4x4 system uses a 4:1 low gear ratio that delivers an available best-in-class 100:1 crawl ratio, meaning you'll have access to high torque at very low speeds.
If you want upgraded on-road performance too, with its 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque, the available 6.4-liter HEMI V8 engine is ready to launch you from zero to 60 mph in just 4.5 seconds. Plus, no matter which of the five engine types you choose, they all offer a maximum towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds when properly equipped.
And all of this legendary off-road capability is now available in the first electrified Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Featuring a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine plus two electric motors, the Wrangler 4xe offers up to 21 miles of all-electric range as a plug-in hybrid, alongside the all of the same trail riding performance that's standard with any Wrangler model.
